Life

Whenever I am stressed out, I cook and bake.

My late mother-in-law, Madam Bistra loved to cook baby potatoes this way:

Shallow fry in butter and oil mixture in a deep saucepan, and then seasoned to taste, and garnished with chopped dill.

Quite some time ago, I ransacked my cupboard and found a packet of savoiardi so I slaved over the stove and made proper zabaglione, like how it should be.

And there you go, my tiramisu.

The secret of not soggy savoiardi is this:

Count 1 2 3.

Dunk the savoiardi at the count of 1, and by the count of 3 it has to be up.

Classic Tiramisu

The linguine recipe is innovated from Mario Batali's.

I fell in love with Mario Batali after dining at his restaurant in Singapore with my husband.

Eh?

Yes, you read it correct. :)

My husband bought me Mario's recipe book so I tried this out.

Linguine with lemon and parsley (and mushrooms and bacon)

I only like two types of dried pasta: linguine and fusili.

Give me capellini and I will raise two of my hands up and surrender.

Here is my attempt on fusili pomodoro.

(There were meat inside. Ground beef.)

When I have leftover ingredients, a bit of this, and a bit of that.

I will make salad, hubby's favourite.

or

Couscous.

Here is my salad served with homemade honey vinegar mustard dressing.

And.

When everything seems so wrong.

So, so wrong.

I have those days, you know. Especially this year. And they say, this year is a very good year for the boar. Nonsense! Not true at all.

I bake brownies.

My numero uno comfort food.

And if I happen to wake up early, I woosh down the kitchen and prepare fried eggs for my husband.

This is very rare, as my husband prepares breakfast for me usually. Not the other way round.

Lucky, eh? :)

Fried eggs

When time is at stake, and I do not want to oil up my kitchen, this is what I do.

Poached chicken in ginger garlic broth and served with wasabi lime dressing, innovated from Donna Hay's.

I love her very much too.

That is all from me.

Today is a good day :)

Two blog posts in a day!

You've gotta be kidding me.

Go all out and get a lottery ticket. You might get lucky. :)

When was the last time you saw me posting two blog posts in a day?
