I was ferried straight from Bayan Lepas airport to this place:
Siam Road.
For?
A plate of char koay teow! And I waited 1 hour and 20 minutes for it, longer than the former Bishopgate kolo mee in Kuching!

But I tell you.
Good stuff!
Piping hot. Real hot. The old man was frying with one hand, the other, fanning the charcoal stove.
This, definitely has to make it to my Bucket List.

He operates around 3 pm, almost daily.
If you are not Penang local, make sure to ask for your taxi driver's number (wherever you are) once you get there, as it is NOT easy at all to catch a taxi in Penang.
Really worth the wait.
The lard, the cockles, the Chinese sausage, plus extra chilli, just perfect.
The epitome of perfect 10 char koay teow.
Desperate to go there to find our their taste.
ReplyDeleteWant to taste them :)
ReplyDeleteNo matter how great the food is, I don't think I could wait an hour 20 minutes for it! Unless of course, they had given me a bottle of wine to wait with. ;-)
