Hawker Fare in Sibu : Best Teochew Porridge

This is Central Market Sibu (back view). I'm driving on my way up to the multi-storey car park. Landscaping in Sibu has improved tremendously over the years. Many years ago, you can hardly find palm trees in Sibu.
Moving on to Level 2 of the multi-storey car park, you will find that this level is overlooking a series of food stalls.

Tada... this is it. Hock Hua pork porridge and their signature pork dumpling "bak chang". Only open on Saturday and Sunday mornings. On weekdays, they operate at night. Be sure to be early, else the bak chang will be sold out in a breeze! The uncle who operates this stall only uses the finest of pork meat available in the market, meaning the meat is clean and of good quality. Even butchers highly recommend this stall.
Here's the celebrity endorsement. I brought a Japanese celebrity friend of mine to have breakfast at this stall . Mr Eddeko-San.Yummy or not, you have to judge on your own. Enjoy. :)

Bedazzled..

Introducing all that glitters.. silver 925. Available at Thian Hua No. 29, Channel Road, 96000 Sibu.
My anklets are not for sale by the way. ;) Nail polish and sandals by O.P.I. and Nose respectively.

Dim Sum Dolly

I have always been very fond of dim sum. To tell you the truth, I am so very grateful that Zhong Hua Mei Shi @ Mitsu Tea House, a dim sum haven has finally open its doors in Sibu.

Before I commit the sin of gluttony, let me just show you the menu.

Now, this is Chee Cheong Fun, a favorite delicacy among Cantonese.

This is stir-fry bitter gourd with beef. I know I am eccentric. To be frank, you can just call me "xiao" for taking dim sum with stir-fry bitter gourd. :P
This is one of the best. Shanghainese Beef Noodles.

I particular love this to bits. Egg tart. Not Achipalang egg tart but Hongkie style egg tart with crusty pastry.
Ooo..I remember how I traveled to Singapore just for this. Xiao Loong Tang Pao. Fabulous! The ample juice may just squirt a few centimeters away. If only Olympic includes eating Xiao Loong Tang Pao, I have the guts to tell you that I might just win at least a bronze for squirting the juices.
Turnip cake. Not everyone will love this. Unless you are a truly devoted dim sum lover.
This is the champion! A tribute to my native hakka.. teehee.. Enjoy the food. I give this restaurant a 10 out of 10 rating. super good!

Fishy Affair

Let me tell you a fishy story today.. Looks like all my dirty secrets are to be spilled in today's blog.. Frankly, i had a love affair with this fish. It's called Coral Trout. It just arrived from Mukah straight to my home..
And into my sink.. playing with bubbles..naughty naughty..
Soon..my mum caught me in the act..therefore it was sentenced to death through slow torturing. Look at the way my mum disect it. Girls, pay attention. Learn from the best. Else, how are you going to prepare Ikan Masak Asam for your in-laws?
After that, it's going to head to fridge before post-mortem.
Oops! at Fat Mum..look at what happen to my coral trout..tantalizing..
Look at the juicy and tender texture of the meat..oh..fabulosity. like how Kimora Lee says it. ;)
